Köy yaþantısı çerçevesinde yüzlerce yılda þekil almıþ renkli ve köklü bir geleneðe sahip olan baðlama çalgısı, Cumhuriyet sonrasında yapılan çalıþmalarla þehirdeki geleneðini oluþturmaya baþlamıþtır. Eski geleneði aðırlıkla sözü taþımak olan bu çalgının, artık kendi baþına çalgısal müziðin bir parçası olması gerektiði birçok müzik otoritesi tarafından öteden beri dile getirilmiþtir.

İþte elinizdeki kitabın öncelikli hedefi, çalgının yüzyıllar öncesinden gelen renkliliði göz ardı edilmeden yeni geleneðine katkı saðlamaktır. Bu kitapta baðlamada yaygın olarak kullanılan baðlama, bozuk, misket ve müstezat düzenlerinde bestelenmiþ 20 eser yer almaktadır. Hem tezeneli hem de þelpe tekniklerine yönelik olarak hazırlanan bu bestelerin baðlama eðitiminde de yararlı olabileceði düþüncesiyle notasyonda metodik imgelerin kullanılması uygun görülmüþtür.

The instrument of Baðlama, which has been shaped within many years in the rural areas and has a rich and profound history, began to create its tradition in the urban areas after the establishment of the Turkish Republic. In the past, this instrument mostly passed down the vocal melodies; however, now it is agreed by many music authorities that it is about time it must be a part of instrumental music on its own as well.

The primary purpose of this book is to contribute to Baðlama new tradition without ignoring its richness dating back to old times. This book involves twenty works composed in the tunings of baðlama, of bozuk, of misket and of müstezat. Those compositions, prepared to be played in both picked and pickless (þelpe) styles, are thought to be beneficial for baðlama education as well, and thus it is agreed that methodical symbols should be used in the notation.
